The Human Touch

Mortgage Group

Where people matter, and technology delivers.

About Timothy Wayland

Since 1990, I’ve had the privilege of helping thousands of individuals and families achieve the American Dream of homeownership. Every mortgage I’ve written has been about more than rates and paperwork—it’s about giving people a place to call “home.”

I founded The Human Touch Mortgage Group to do things differently. Our mission is simple: to help families create a safe, warm place to return to every day.

We pair smart technology with personal guidance. You deserve someone who listens, understands, and meets you where you are—because in today’s fast-paced world, you shouldn’t have to choose between convenience and connection.

I’ve lived in Michigan all my life, and I never get tired of its beauty—from the Great Lakes to the U.P. This state is special to me, and it’s an honor to help the people who live here plant roots and build something lasting.

I still remember handing the keys to my very first client back in 1990. It wasn’t about a paycheck—it was about a front door and a fresh start. That’s still what drives me today.

Whether you’re buying your first home or refinancing your current one, I’m here to walk alongside you—with experience, heart, and a human touch.

A Certified Divorce Lending Professional (CDLP) is a mortgage professional who has undergone specialized training to help clients navigate the unique financial and emotional challenges that come with divorce—especially when it comes to the marital home and mortgage financing.

Unlike a traditional loan officer, a CDLP understands how divorce-related issues such as spousal support, child support, property division, and credit concerns can impact a mortgage application or homeownership decisions.

CDLP explained:

What you can expect when you work with me:

I meet with potential borrowers to understand their financial goals and guide them through various mortgage options, ensuring they make informed decisions about their homeownership path.

I ensure adherence to all relevant federal, state, and local regulations, maintaining integrity and compliance in every loan process.

I assist clients in gathering necessary documentation and preparing accurate, timely loan applications to ensure a smooth approval process.

I collaborate with underwriters to assess creditworthiness and work with loan processors to ensure efficient and thorough application reviews.

I keep clients informed throughout the loan process, answer questions, and build strong relationships with clients and industry professionals to foster trust and referrals.

I coordinate with title companies, escrow agents, and other parties to ensure a smooth and timely closing.
